A community Health Dept. was started in 1975 for the integral
development of the people around the hospital with new projects
and programmes like “Project Silver Hills”,
which provided toilet facilities, environmental sanitation
and health care consciousness to the poor people of the
locality. ‘Vikas Welfare centre’
was started in 1977, as an extension of the community Health
Dept. for better co-ordination and continuation for the
community health and development programmes. This community
Health Department is functioning well, with six full time
staff and 30 trainees taking care of the basic health needs
of 20 villages around the hospital covering a population
of 4000. This centre has an objective of empowering people
for positive health through Health Education, immunization
programmes, aids awareness etc.
