We also provide the various professional courses with the aim to provide more job opportunities and thus empower the masses. We take pride in the fact that we have not commercialised education and still hold on to the moral values and principles.
In 1964 -66 Mother Aloysia and Sr. Camilla dreamt of a nursing school and they worked very hard to make it a reality. The first batch of nursing students were admitted in Sept 1968 after obtaining the KNC and INC approval and affiliation to Calicut Medical College.

Sr. Celine was the director of the School of Nursing and Sr. Alphons, Sr. Agostina and Miss Daniel were the teaching faculty. The seed sown by Mother Aloysia and Sr. Camilla was growing steadily increasing the number of seats from 6-12 in 1972, to 20 in 1977, to 25 in 1981 and 30 in 1993. In 1993 the School celebrated its Silver Jubilee in a grand scale.
The students of the School of Nursing always come out with colourful results. The Nursing School is well equipped with all modern facilities. We have efficient systems of teaching and clinical practices. the ex- students of the School of Nursing, Nirmala Hospital, Calicut are rendering excellent service to the suffering humanity in every corner of the world.
 
The School of Medical Lab Technology, Nirmala Hospital, Calicut is a well established institution affiliated to the Christian Medical Association of India.

In the school of Medical Lab Technology , started in 1975, 9 students are trained per year. After this Diploma course they have opportunities to continue their studies in BMLT and post graduation through lateral entry.

Duration of the course: 2 years

Eligibility for admission: Minimum qualification for admission is a pass in plus two/equivalent exam with science as optional and an average of 50% marks in English and Science subjects.

Date of commencement: 1st of August. An interview is conducted before selecting the candidates.

Laboratory medicine is the basis of the modern day health care system. The advance in technology, better understanding of the various disease processes, advancement od medical research and the growing demand for reliable test results, which are accurateand reproducible. For smooth and efficient functioning and for the better systemic diagnosis we have various departments like Biochemistry, Microbiology, Histopathology, Haematology, and a well organised blood bank with the aim of providing clean, uninfected blood to the patients.
 
 
Today considering the advances in medical services and health care delivery and the need of hospitals to render 'quality care' in the emerging trends of newer diseases and health care problems, there is an urgent need for equipping Nursing professionals with advanced technologies in Nursing Care, to update the nursing profession with scientific approach to provide quality care to the sick and to train nurses for integrated Health Care service with emphasis on physical, psychological and spiritual dimensions healing the sick.

College of Nursing
The higher education in nursing aims at the overall development of the Nursing graduates into professional experst with basic human and spiritual values of healing the sick which in turn gives them good opportunities within and outside the country thus providing means for socio-economic uplift of their families and the societies at large. Hence we took initiative to start a College of Nursing in keeping with our objectives to strive for excellence in medical and nursing service.
Nirmala College of Nursing came into being in September 2003. The first batch of students was admitted in December 2003 after obtaining approvals from the Kerala Nurses and Midwives Council and the University of Calicut. The College is also approved by the INC New Delhi.

Class in Progress
The faculty of Nirmala College of Nursing believes that nursing is a profession which collaborates with other health proefssions in helping individuals, families and society to prevent illness. We have 50 students in each batch. The college, functioning in a newly constructed 3 storey building, offers excellent training facilities with competent, experienced and dedicated staff, spacious class rooms, well equipped laboratories and full fledged library with latest books and journals.

We emphasise on value education, intellectual and moral development and clinical training of the students, so that they can excel in nursing career.
